Oklahoma’s in Bottom Tier of States for Working Moms

 

womenoilpatchWhen it comes to the best states for working moms, whether it’s in the oil patch, coal mines or electrical crews, Oklahoma is in the bottom tier of the states according to a survey by WalletHub.

The organization said Vermont’s number one while Oklahoma is ranked 36th based on 13 metrics including day-care, professional opportunities and work-life balance.

Nevada was ranked 51st worst. Kansas was 9th best and New Mexico was 42nd. New York has the highest day-care quality score while the District of Columbia has the highest ratio of female executives to male executives, 65 percent. Virginia has the highest median women’s salary of $45,452, two times higher than in Hawaii. North Dakota has the lowest female unemployment rate of 2.8 percent.
