Late 2015 Wells Just Reported in Oklahoma

Six months after some high-producing oil wells were drilled in the state, production companies are just filing their completion reports. The largest to be reported this week was a Blaine County well producing 1,817 barrels a day along with 4,381 Mcf of natural gas by Continental Resources. The Compton well is located southeast of Watonga and had a spud date of Sept. 19, 2015 with drilling finished in December and completion dated Jan. 5, 2016. Continental ended up using nearly 20 million pounds of Sand in the fracturing process along with about 448,000 barrels of slick water.

In adjacent Kingfisher County, Newfield Exploration brought in a well producing 676 barrels of oil a day. Located west of Dover, the Loris well was in the Mississippian Lime and had a spud date in Sept. 2015, finished drilling in November and a completion date of Feb. 2, 2016. Marathon Oil also produced a 573-barrel a day well northwest of Okarche. The Voss well had a spud date in December with drilling finished in January and completion in March 2016.

Newfield Exploration also had two big producers in Stephens county at sites just west of the community of Foster. One well produced 1,245 barrels of oil along with 3,118 Mcf of gas. Both were Hunter wells. The second produced 1,055 barrels of oil from the Woodford play. Both had spud dates in September and October of last year with drilling finished in October and November. Completion dates were in February 2016.
