Newfield Exploration Stays Busy in Oklahoma Oil Plays

Six new wells, including two producing more than 1,000 barrels of oil a day each have been reported by Newfield Exploration in Oklahoma.

The two largest wells are in Garvin County’s Woodford play. Both are named PARKS wells and are at the same site located near the small community of Purdy located south of Lindsay and west of Pauls Valley. The largest PARKS well produced 1,069 barrels of oil a day along with 1,760 mcf of natural gas. The spud date was Dec. 1, 2015 and drilling was finished by the end of the month with completion dated April 29, 2016. The second PARKS well produced 1,038 barrels a day along with 2,491 mcf. Spud date was Nov. 27, 2015 and drilling wasn’t finished until March 2, 2016 followed by completion non April 22, 2016.

Newfield, based in Houston, reported moderate success in the Mississippian play of Kingfisher County too with the largest of four wells bringing in 990 barrels of oil a day at the HELEN well located north of state highway 3 and midway between the Chisholm Trail Technology Center and the city of Kingfisher. The well, producing 1,416 mcf of gas had a Feb. 20 spud date with the end of drilling on March 8 and completion dated April 4.

Newfield had a well east of the city of Kingfisher. The UNCLE BILL produced 215 barrels dialy along with1,011 mcf. Located 5 miles east of Kingfisher along state highway 33, the well had a Jan. 25 spud date with drilling finished Feb. 24 and completion on March 17.

Two Newfield wells were reported northwest of Loyal. The SANDY produced 410 barrels daily along with 1,925 mcf of gas. Its spud date was Feb. 16 followed by the end of drilling on March 3 and completion on March 31. The POPE well produced 477 barrels daily and 239 mcf of gas. Its spud date was Jan. 5 followed by the end of drilling on Feb. 15 and completion on April 6.
