The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is seeking public input in developing the agency’s strategic plan for fiscal years 2018-2022.

The NRC will hold a meeting on Wednesday, July 27 beginning at 9 a.m. at the agency’s headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. A webinar is also available for public participation.

The NRC staff will consider the perspectives and views of parties that could be affected by or are interested in the agency’s plan, according to the NRC’s website.

Based on stakeholder input, the NRC will develop a draft plan that will be published for public comment before issuing a final plan.

The current Strategic Plan covers 2014-2018. It provides a blueprint for the NRC to plan, implement and monitor the work needed to achieve its mission. It establishes strategic goals, performance expectations and a basis for the agency’s annual budget and performance plans.

The 2018-2022 NRC Strategic Plan is due to Congress and the President by February 5, 2018.
