The STACK keeps on delivering for Oklahoma City’s Devon Energy and Houston-based Newfield Exploration while Tulsa’s Petroquest reports five more gas wells in gas-rich southeastern Oklahoma.

As indicated by the latest completion reports revealed on OK Energy Today, Devon Energy’s hit a well producing more than 1,600 barrels of oil daily in Blaine county. The MARMOT well located south of State Highway 8 and 6 miles due east of Watonga had production of 1,621 barrels of oil a day out of the Mississippian formation plus 2,843 mcf of gas when completed June 22. Its spud date was March 2 while drilling finished on April 18.

Several miles away, closer to the town of Hitchcock, Newfield Exploration brought in a well producing 1,123 oils a day along with 1,239 mcf of gas. The RUTH ANN is located 5 miles southeast of Hitchcock, again in the Mississippian formation. Its spud date was Jan. 28 and drilling finished on March 11 followed by a completion date of March 29.

Tulsa’s Petroquest is making a home in Hughes County when it comes to turning out one gas well after another. We reported last week its success with two major gas wells. Now the company has reported five more gas wells near the Hughes county community of Lamar. All are in the Woodford formation. Their production ranges from 3,971 mcf of gas to 2,077 mcf.
