Chemical Leak Left Dozens Treated in Atchison, Kansas

Things are back to normal in Atchison, Kansas following a Friday morning chemical plant leak that resulted in a few dozen residents being treated. Authorities in the northeast Oklahoma City blamed it on what they called an “inadvertent” mixture of sodium hypocholorite and sulfuric acity, according to a report in the Kansas City Star.

At least 34 people were treated and five of them were city employees. None was seriously hurt in the incident.
