Water Board Gets Nearly $11 million EPA Grant

The Oklahoma Water Resources Board has received a nearly $11 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to fund clean-water projects in the state.

The grant goes to the state’s Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund. it provides low-interest, flexible loans to communities to help them improve water quality and infrastructure.

The $10.79 million will be used by the State to provide loans and other types of financial assistance to communities and state agencies for wastewater improvements. It will help improve water quality in streams, lakes, rivers and bays, benefitting aquatic life and sources of drinking water.

The Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund has been in existence for more than 25 years, serving as the country’s largest source of water-quality financing, helping communities improve water quality and protecting aquatic wildlife. Since 1987, the fund has provided $105.4 billion to communities through nearly 35,000 low-cost loans.
