A 3.2 magnitude earthquake jolted Pawnee County on Wednesday morning, according to a U.S. Geological Survey report.

The temblor struck northeastern Oklahoma at approximately 10:16 a.m. The quake’s epicenter was seven miles northwest of Pawnee. No injuries or damage was reported from the latest earthquake.

A record 5.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded in September near Pawnee, causing damage to several structures. Governor Mary Fallin issued a state of emergency for Pawnee County immediately following the largest earthquake recorded in Oklahoma, which was felt in multiple states.

In recent years, the area has been rattled by thousands of earthquakes, prompting the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to issue numerous regulatory directives since 2013 to address oil and gas operations in the Arbuckle formation. Regulators have ordered the closure of some wells while restricting volume disposal rates for others. In December, the OCC issued a three-tiered guidance directive on seismicity that may be linked to hydraulic fracking operations.
