OKC’s Continental Resources Scores Big Again in SCOOP

Oklahoma’s SCOOP continues being a sweet spot for Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources as the company hit yet another 1,000-barrel-a-day-plus well in Grady County.

Completion reports shown by OK Energy Today reveal the Cash well located at 26 7N 6W or about 6 miles east of Chickasha is producing 1,417 barrels of oil equivalent a day. It also has 1,641 Mcf of natural gas. The well was spudded Jan. 11 and drilling finished on Feb. 20 with completion listed as March 21, 2017.

It was the second major well reported in recent days by Harold Hamm’s Continental Resources. As OK Energy Today reported on Monday, the company has a 2,100 barrel a day well near Watonga.

But the latest in Grady County is among a handful of major wells in the SCOOP to be drilled by Continental Resources. Earlier in the month, the company brought in two wells in the same vicinity as the Cash well. Both were near the town of Alex and one produced 1,808 barrels daily while the second came in with 1,117 a day.  In early March, Continental scored a 1,003 barrel a day well also near Alex along with a nearby well that produced 921 barrels a day.

Continental Resources also reported another significant well in the STACK, a 506 barrel a day well 5 miles northeast of Watonga, 13 16N 11W. The well was drilled last year with a spud date of May 20 followed by the end of drilling in late June. It had a Feb. 22, 2017 completion date. It’s in Blaine county along with a Devon Energy well reported this week. Devon’s Yost well, 2 15N 10W produced 998 barrels a day along with 2,695 Mcf of natural gas. The Devon well is located about 3 miles due south of the Chisholm Trail Technology center on state highway 3 midway between Watonga and Kingfisher.
