California Firm Sells Half Ownership in NW Oklahoma Wind Farm

The sales price was not announced but EDF Renewable Energy, based in San Diego, California announced it has sold 50 percent interest in Great Western Wind Project based in Woodward an Ellis counties in northwest Oklahoma.

Alliant Energy Corporation located in Madison, Wisconsin bought the 50% ownership in the 225 megawatt wind farm. The wind farm consists of 30 V117 wind towers and 63 V100 wind towers.  Commercial operations started in December 2016 and electricity generated is provided to Google under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement.

EDF RE will remain not only the 50% co-owner but will provide management services. The company remains one of the largest renewable energy developers in North America with 9 gigawatts of wind, solar, storage, biomass and biogas projects in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

Alliant Energy provides electric and natural gas service to 960,000 electric and 410,000 natural gas customers in the Midwest.
