Oklahoma has Nation’s 2nd Cheapest Gasoline Prices

Oklahoma continues with some of the cheapest gasoline in the country as this week’s average pump price is $2.09, a 3-cent increase in the past week according to the weekly report from AAA Oklahoma.

Surrounding states have prices about 3 cents higher including Arkansas and Missouri. The U.S. average is up slightly to $2.38 a gallon. South Carolina has the lowest average at $2.03 a gallon.

“As you’re heading out for that great American road trip, it’s good to know what gas prices are doing in the states you’ll be traveling in and through,” said Chuck Mai, a spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. He said Oklahoma’s statewide average for self-serve regular is eleven cents below the $2.20 average in Texas and 18 cents cheaper than the average reported in Dallas.

Tulsa’s average is $2.03, unchanged from a month ago and only two cents cheaper than one year ago. In Oklahoma City, the average is $2.06 a gallon, up from a month ago and 9 cents cheaper than June of 2016.

Ada has the most expensive gasoline in the state with an average of $2.26 a gallon. Purcell’s average is $2.25 and the average in Mustang is $2.23.

The cheapest gasoline can be found in Wagoner where the average is $1.94. Okmulgee, Muskogee, Sapulpa and Yukon report averages of $1.98.
