More STACK Wells Reported by Continental Resources

Harold Hamm can’t stop smiling no doubt as his Continental Resources continues to drill well after well in Oklahoma’s STACK, and find success.

With 171,000 acres of leasehold in Oklahoma’s STACK, Hamm’s Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources has brought in four more wells. While they are nothing like the Verona drilled last year with 3,300 Boed production, the wells are examples of how Continental continues to have success in Blaine, Canadian and Kingfisher counties.

Reported in OK Energy Today’s well completion reports, three of the wells were multi-units at 18 16N 10W, an area located about 6 miles northeast of Watonga and north of State Highway 3. Each of the Blurton wells had spud dates of June 2016 with completions in June and July 2017. The largest produced 413 boed.

A fourth Continental well was completed in June 2017 nearly 11 miles west of Watonga and just south of the junction of highways US 270 and State 33.

This area has been wildly successful for Continental. Witness the Verona at 3,300 boed and the Madeline at 2,513 boed, both around Watonga. Other big wells have been drilled in the region by Continental.

But Kaiser-francis oil reports completion of 3 wells around Chickasha, the largest producing 615 boed. It was the Bia 5-8-9 1h located at 8 8N 9W or about two miles north of Lake Chickasha. Spud date was in February with completion made in May 2017.

Kaiser-francis had a 533 boed well, the Amanda located a mile east of Lake Louis Burtschi and southwest of Chickasha. Drilling started this year and finished in July. The third well, the Torralba brought in 322 boed and is located 3 miles southwest of Ninnekah and just east of the H.E. Bailey Turnpike. Drilling began in February and completion was made in May 2017.
