Earth Rebirth Attempts to Expand in Oklahoma

The Norman-based environmental group, Earth Rebirth is attempting to make an impact far beyond central Oklahoma and the state. The non-profit has a goal of establishing a garden at every school in Norman and have each garden sell food to their own cafeteria supplier as a revenue source for the classroom.

Its main focus is on food, energy and water. Earth Rebirth has a mission to educate and empower people to bridge the gaps between economic and environmental problems.

“Every person we talk to tells us how great Earth Rebirth’s goals are for the community, but we crave a much larger impact. People need it. And if Earth Rebirth is going to help the entire state of

Oklahoma, we need everybody to help us get there.” said Andrew Sartain.
He said Earth Rebirth already has 15 school garden partners and 24 schools on its waiting list around Oklahoma. But volunteer groups are said to be popping up in Colorado, Texas and Georgia. Some are in possible discussion with colleges and universities in the creation of class credit internships to inspire young people to apply higher education to local community solutions.

The organization has launched an official membership program with different levels of membership and participation. Business levels are also included for those firms looking to sponsor Earth Rebirth programs.

The organization’s website is earthrebirthnow.org but questions can be directed to info@earthrebirthnow.com.
