OKC Airport Gets $2 million Commerce Department Grant

Oklahoma City’s getting a $2 million U.S. Commerce Department grant to increase capacity of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul businesses to work on larger planes at the Will Rogers World Airport.

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross made the announcement, awarding the grant to the Oklahoma City Airport Trust. The money is through the Department’s Economic Development Administration.

“President Trump has been clear on the need to renew and rebuild crumbling American infrastructure from coast to coast,” said Secretary Ross. “The improvements at the Will Rogers Airport will provide a boost for local economy allowing for new opportunities and further business development in Oklahoma City.”

He explained the project was possible through regional planning efforts of the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments.
