Inhofe Praises Senate Confirmation of Howard Elliott to Top DOT Pipeline Post

Oklahoma’s U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe has weighed in following the Senate confirmation of Howard R. “Skip” Elliott as the federal Department of Transportation’s Administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.

“I’m pleased the Senate confirmed the nomination of Howard Elliott to be Administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration,” said Inhofe. “With over 40 years of service in the transportation sector and over a decade of experience in a public health and safety issues, Mr. Elliott is the right person to encourage the development and use in the field of new technology, designs and materials in support of PHSMA’s safety mission.”

Elliott has a 40-year history in the freight rail industry. He previously held the title of group vice president of public safety, health, environment, and security for Jacksonville, Florida-based CSX Transportation.
