Oklahoma Firms Make Newest Forbes List of the World’s Best Employers

At least two Oklahoma energy companies are on the Forbes “Global 2000: World’s Best Employers” list, a first ever compilation by the company. And others with operations in Oklahoma are also on the list.

Tulsa-based Williams was listed number seven while Oklahoma City’s Continental Resources ranked 22. The rankings were based on surveys analyzed by Germany-based Statista Inc. In the surveys, employees were asked to rate their employer, how likely they would be to recommend the company to another person and to list companies they admired.

The Williams Companies, worth an estimated $25.1 billion has more than 5,600 employees and operates through Williams Partners, Williams NGL and Petchem Services and Others.

Continental Resources, founded by Harold Hamm in 1967 has nearly eleven-hundred employees. The company’s worth is $17.3 billion according to Forbes.

Two other companies on the list have operations in Oklahoma but are headquartered in other states. Enel, worth $47.5 billion is ranked 19. The electricity and gas distributor based in Rome, Italy has wind farm operations in Oklahoma. Its worldwide employment is more than 62,000.

Another wind-farm operator, NextEra Energy based in Florida is ranked 34 with a value of $60.4 billion. It too has wind farm operations in Oklahoma and a total of 14,200 employees.

Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc. was ranked number one followed by Microsoft Corp. and Apple Inc.

Noble Energy, a firm with its origins in Oklahoma was ranked number 5 with 2,275 employees and a market value of $15.1 billion.
