STACK Produces More Wells for Newfield Exploration

In an apparent move to catch up on paperwork, Houston-based Newfield Exploration has filed 16 well completions in Oklahoma’s STACK play including two that produced more than 1,000 barrels of oil a day.

In the Oct. 13 completion reports as indicated by OK Energy Today, the company reported the Freeman well, 11 16N 8W located 4 miles northwest of Kingfisher had production of 1,373 barrels of oil a day including 2,546 Mcf of gas. The spud date was March 1 and drilling was finished in May with completion in July.

Newfield had a 1,017 barrel-a-day oil well in Kingfisher County, one of several reported by the company in the county. The Apache, 31 16N 6W was actually drilled last year with an August 2016 spud date followed by the end of drilling in September and completion in November 2016. The well also had 2,640 Mcf of gas.

The company also reported 9 other Kingfisher County wells with oil production ranging from the 400 to 744 barrels a day. All were in the Mississippian zone.
