Survey Reveals Slow Population Growth in Oklahoma

A new report by WalletHub shows cities in Oklahoma are not among the fastest growing in the U.S.

The honor of the fastest growing city in the nation goes to Frisco, Texas, a Dallas suburb. Frisco also had the nation’s highest job growth at 5.83 percent. The city is not only home to the Dallas Cowboys practice facility and adjacent hotels and restaurant but adjacent to the Toyota plant under construction in Plano.

Oklahoma City was ranked 34th fastest growing city among the large cities while the top honor goes to Austin, Texas.

When compared to all 515 cities in the survey, WalletHub had Oklahoma City ranked 217 while Tulsa was 55.  Broken Arrow came in 130 while Edmond was 240, Norman 335 and Lawton 499.

However, Tulsa also was tied for number one honors in the highest regional Gross Domestic Product growth.
