Crude oil traders wonder if prices will rebound after Friday’s $1 drop

Not only did crude oil prices take a dollar-a-barrel slide in Friday’s trading but Oklahoma energy stocks recorded losses for the day. It came after U.S. central bank leaders indicated higher-for-longer interest rates, an action that could slow demand from the world’s leading crude consumers.

Brent crude finished down $1.09 or 1.3% at $82.79 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

Crude prices were mixed for the week as WTI had a rise of 0.2% while Brent crude had a 0.2% loss.

June natural gas fell 5 cents to $2.25 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Friday proved to be a day of losses for most Oklahoma energy stocks including a 5% drop for Vital Energy and a more than 3% tumble for Gulfport Energy.

Other energy stocks finished down for the day, according to the Texas Energy Report.

Exxon Mobil (XOM) down 0.48 at 117.96 – change 0.41%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.07 at 19.07 – change 0.36%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) down 0.60 at 26.59 – change 2.21%

NOV Inc. (NOV) down 0.29 at 18.84 – change 1.52%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) down 0.67 at 63.57 – change 1.05%

Phillips 66 (PSX) down 2.12 at 145.60 – change 1.44%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) down 0.02 at 0.43 – change 4.87%

Valero (VLO) down 2.74 at 156.13 – change 1.73%
