OU researchers contend climate change will increase social injustice for Native Americans

 

 

University of Oklahoma researchers point to a proposed cobalt/nickel refinery built near Lawton as an example how they contend that climate change is likely to intensify hazard risk and social injustice for Native Americans.

Indian Country Today reported Native people, espcial Kiowa, Comanche and Apache tribes do not want the plant on their ancestral land as proposed by Bartlesville-based Westwin Elements Inc.

One of the reported researchers was also an activist for the tribes.
