Nation’s rig totals unchanged—same for Oklahoma

The latest Baker Hughes Rig Report showed the nation’s number of active oil and gas rigs was about steady over the past week, with a decline of one rig, while Oklahoma also remained the same count as a prior week.

Nationally, the count fell by one to 587 rigs and the number of oil rigs fell by 2 to 450 but the total in gas drilling rigs increased one to 127.  It was the first national decline in six weeks. The miscellaneous rig count was unchanged at 10 while there was a drop of one offshore drilling rig, leaving 12 in service.

Oklahoma’s count continued at 50 rigs, several more than the 42 rigs reported a year ago, reported Baker Hughes.

Other States

Texas saw a drop of 2 to 272 rigs while New Mexico remained at 96 and North Dakota saw no change with an active count of 24 rigs. Louisiana also remained the same count as a week earlier with 37 rigs.
