Federal Appeals Court Rules Against Colorado Energy Company

Gavel2

Colorado-based Buccaneer Energy lost a bid in the Denver Federal Appeals court to revive its antitrust lawsuit against three other gas companies.

The firm sued the three claiming they unfairly cut it out of a competitive area of western Colorado. But the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals would not bring new life back to the suit against Gunnison Energy Corp., SG Interest I Ltd. and SG Interests VII Ltd.

The suit was dismissed by a district judge in the fall of 2015. Buccaneer Energy claimed the firms conspired to deny it access to a gas pipeline in Colorado’s Ragged Mountain Area and violated the Sherman Act.

The original ruling was by Federal Judge Richard Matsch.
