Latest STACK play wells in Oklahoma

 

 

Oklahoma’s STACK play might not have as many big producers in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the effects it has had on the oil and gas industry, but it still has the potential.

Devon Energy Production Co. LP reports completion of a mother-daughter pair of wells in Oklahoma’s STACK with combined production of nearly 1,200 barrels of crude oil a day.

The Cascade 14_23-16n 9w wells are located on a single pad at 14 16N 9W in Kingfisher county, which is a site about 7 miles due south of the town of Loyal.

One well had production of 515 barrels of oil a day and 439 Mcf of natural gas following a May 2019 spud date and completion in October 2019. The well had a drilling depth of 19,410 feet.

The second Cascade well produced 658 barrels of oil and 827 Mcf of natural gas a day. It too had a May 2019 spud date with completion in October 2019 from a depth of 19,376 feet in the Mississippi Lime formation.

Tapstone Energy LLC reported completions of two separate wells in Dewey County. The Jones 31/30-19-14 3h was drilled at 6 18N 14W or about 8 miles west of Canton. It had a December 2018 spud date with completion in March 2019. Production was 574 barrels of oil a day and 1,636 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 20,627 feet.

Tapstone also reported completion of the Ranchi 18/7-19-17 4h at 19 19N 17W which is a site about 8 miles southwest of Seiling. The Ranchi had production of 105 barrels of oil a day and 1,348 Mcf of natural gas at a depth of 21,674 feet.

Continental Resources reported completion of another well in its target area east of Chickasha. The Healey 5-13-12xhs is located at 13 7N 6W or about 3 miles northeast of the community of Tabler and had production of 182 barrels of oil a day and 571 Mcf of natural gas from a drilling depth of 19,365 in the Woodford formation.
