Work has started on a $427 million project to build another wind farm in Texas, one to be located east of Abilene.
Clearway Energy Group said construction on Mesquite Sky, a 345 megawatt wind farm with 69 turbines is underway in Callahan County.
Once operational, Mesquite Sky will sell power under long-term virtual power purchase agreements to support the sustainability commitments of corporate customers Deere & Company and Whirlpool Corporation according to a report by Energy Global.
The wind farm is expected to go into operation in late 2021.
