Kansas and Missouri now have laws to help utilities shutter coal power plants

 

Missouri is the latest state to adopt a law helping utilities to close more power plants.

A bill was signed Tuesday by Gov. Mike Parson which will hasten the transition to renewable energy.

The Kansas City Star reported Parson signed into law a policy which will allow utility companies to refinance debt theu issued to build coal plants.
