Judge rules against Energy Transfer in failed merger with Williams

A federal judge has ruled Energy Transfer LP should pay a $410 million penalty over its failed $33 billion merger in 2016 with Tulsa-based Williams Cos.

“Having called a dirge for the merger,” Energy Transfer “must pay the piper,” ruled Delaware Chancery Court Judge Sam Glasscock III in his 95-page decision.
