So why is the Colorado oil and gas industry now coming out in support of a controversial push to ban all oil and gas drilling in the state by 2030?
It’s not a case of “if you can’t lick ’em, join ’em.” Instead, the push is a political maneuver to point out that the proposals of some legislators nad environmental groups are simply unconstitutional.
Admittedly, the maneuver left environmental groups stumped and puzzled. Colorado Public Radio reported the oil and gas industry believes that the latest ballot proposals violate Colorado’s single-subject rule.
