Crude prices in the US managed to nearly hold their own on Friday’s trading while Oklahoma energy stocks suffered losses including some with 6% and 7% drops in the values of their stocks.
West Texas Intermediate crude slipped 2 cents on Friday to $75.33 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude finished down 25 cents to $79.62 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Wholesale gasoline for July delivery fell 2 cents to $2.38 a gallon. July heating oil fell 1 cent to $2.35 a gallon.
July natural gas rose 10 cents to $2.92 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Investors will be hoping that Monday will bring a turnaround for Oklahoma energy stocks as they suffered more losses on Friday, including a 7% fall for NGL Energy Partners and a 6% drop for Empire Petroleum.
